Grauer Road Dyke Replacement
Sea Island, Richmond, BC
Garibaldi Pumice provided approximately 5,600 cubic metres of dacite pumice lightweight fill (lwf) material for the Grauer Road Dyke Replacement. This project is situated on Sea Island. Like the Canada Line Sky Train project completed in the same area, site soils are highly compressible with a near surface water table which is tidally influenced. Material testing was completed as described for the Golden Ears Connector project. The in-place, saturated surface-dry density of Garibaldi’s lwf was determined to be approximately 800 kg/m3 after machine compaction. A full description of testing is available upon request.
